Hi Michael,
Congratulations on a 12-year-in-the-making novel and a 40-year-in-the-making relationship! No small feats!
Welcome to the class – this is my first time taking it. I look forward to our journey together.

Hi Michael! Oh, I hear you when you say that you get depressed when you aren’t writing. It’s a tricky thing in writing we soar, in sharing we shake. Thus the course community that Joe has created.
I am so glad to hear that you have your first novel up on sale and here but I hear the difficulties from many writers about sales numbers. I think putting it on Story Cartel will increase your visibility and thus your ranking (if I only had the structure of that ranking software). Visability is key as are reviews so putting it here is a great move. I’ve promised myself beyond my limit to read and review and want to honor that (outside of the Cartel) but I am very intrusted in reading your baby so, however I get it I will review for you.
Nice to meet you!

Thank you, Michael. I replied but until recently (very recently ;p) I have been replying to the main topic, rather than replying “at” the commenter. Hope you got my thanks!
I’m really not dumb as a tank, I just roll too fast! ๐

Hey Micheal,
Glad you will be going through the class at the same time. Welcome. I am still trying to figure out where to create my forum account. Where did you create yours?
Blessings,

Brenda, you go to the forum where you want to write something and simply scroll to the bottom of the page to the box, type and submit. For example, click on Forum->Introductions and scroll down. It should say create a new topic. THere you can tell us about yourself.

Hi Michael, I’m so glad to meet you. I love what you’ve written about yourself, and the joy writing gives you.
I look forward to reading your fiction. Good luck with platform building and selling more copies. From what I’ve heard, the train takes off slowly for new authors, but the momentum builds and builds if your work is good.

Great to meet you, Michael. What’s San Miguel de Allende like? My wife and I have toyed with the idea of living somewhere in Mexico, either in Mexico City or somewhere in Jalisco.
Quick thought on your book, I think if we can reviews to about 25, we can get it up on BookBub (bookbub.com/advertise) and get a ton of sales quick. Keep pushing. ๐

Hi Joe,
San Miguel is spectacular. Only 140,000 but with all the amenities of a big city. Great art/music/author scene. One of the major art hubs for all of Latin America. Has an expat (American, Canadian, European) population that is about 10% of general population, so it is easier to ease into Spanish. Best Spanish schools in Latin America. All year round temperate climate–sort of like Bay Area. Never gross hot, never humid. The center of Colonial Mexico, so sort of like Mexico’s Boston. It was named by Conde Nast last year as best city in world, believe it or not. And I have 2 and a half times the standard of living on a third of the income that I had in Rhode Island.
Google San Miguel de Allende and check out some of the You Tube videos.
Also has the best Literary Conference I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been going for the last thirty years to them all over, that takes place every February. You should check it out.
San Miguel is also the safest place in Mexico. And only a few hours from Puerta Vallarta and Mexico City.
I have 11 reviews so far, and they are excellent. So I hope to get to 25 soon. I am very diligently pushing the marketing daily, although it’s a lot more work than I had expected with slow results.
I’m enjoying the class, and just posted my first story.
p.s. Although I sent you a separate email about this, could you tell me how to get my picture into my profile. It’s driving me nuts. Thanks.

Michael, I had to stop reading half way through because it was making me way too jealous… also because I had to check plane ticket prices. ๐
I’ll definitely check out the literary conference. That would be such a fun way to explore the city for the first time.
Good question about the picture. In general, wordpress likes to pull pictures from Gravatar.com. You might try creating an account there with the email you used for the course. I think that should work!

Me too, Michael. Would you and Tom have room for me? Permanently? I am very quiet and don’t take too much room. I’ll be out at the Cantina most of the time anyway! ๐

Welcome, Michael! I visited the Gulf Coast of Mexico a few years ago, and was smitten with the food, the bizarre (to me) plants, and the stunning scenery.

Hi Michael! Nice to meet you!
I also have my book up on Story Cartel (“Daniel the Draw-er”, Children’s/MG fiction). Even though I’m a slow reader due to life, I’ll check yours out and [eventually] get a review up on Amazon.
Looking forward to learning with and from you!
