Hi Stef! I love your profile photo. So much of your personality comes through just on that one great, beautiful photo! And your writing is another layer of you that I am looking forward to becoming acquainted with. I love that you have combined poetry and animals. One the love for words; the other, for the creatures God has given us to love and learn from. You are a very special kind of writer, Stef. Many authors that I know, myself included, wish we had the gift of language to mold it into poetry. Please know that that is esteemed beyond usual discussion. I just wanted to emphasize that. So good to say hello and read your intro. Look forward to further readings!

Hi Lee and thank you so much! I’ve always loved animals and have even aspired to become a veterinarian during my high school days.
Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. But I believe the power of the pen can create just as much change and service to animals, hence my determination to finish what I’ve started a year ago.
Looking forward to sharing my work with you!
P. S. Thank you as well for the kind compliments about my photo. You got me blushing; it isn’t everyday that I’m able to take a good photo of myself. ๐

Hey Stef!
Not a poet, and pretty abysmal at that form of writing, but in the past there have been poets in the course. I’m sure more will turn up, sooner or later!
So pleased to meet you and share in this experience together.

Thank you as well Margie for the warm welcome!
I’ve always believed in the importance and power of one’s passion for something. We all need to have something we truly desire and are willing to strive for. It’s what keeps us up at night and gets us out of bed in the morning.
I visited your blog by the way and am happy for you and how you’re able to publish your book, The Beader’s Guide to Jewelry Design. Congratulations! ๐

Hi Stef! A fellow freelancer and nonfiction writer here. Like you, I’m befuddled by the idea of creating whole stories/worlds in fiction, but enjoy reading it. Poetry happens to me occasionally, and when it does, it’s either sad (and cathartic) or whimsical (and fun!) I’m glad you’re around!

Hi Elisabeth! My thoughts exactly, and so I admire fiction writers who are able to write and finish novels and short story collections. It’s no easy feat!
Glad to meet another poet in the Story Cartel! Looking forward to working with you and reading your work. ๐

Hi Stef! A fellow writer from my part of the world ๐
I can’t write poetry to save my life but I completely understand the happiness and fulfillment of doing something creative. I’m looking forward to working and interacting with you.

Thanks Yvette! Where do you live? Let’s keep in touch! ๐
I feel the same way towards works of other genres, especially drama. Never fails to amaze me.

I think you’re going to fit in just fine, Stef. Also, I think we need a few good poets to keep us honest. All the poets I know inspire me. I hope you can inspire all of us.

Hi Stef Your photo is adorable! The titles of your books are beautiful. I appreciate you learning different verse structures, it adds an extra element to poetry and is an honoured technique. It’s lovely to meet you.

Hi LoriMarie and thank you very much! That’s a win for me considering I’m terrible with headlines when writing blog posts.
On my wishlist is Mark Strand’s and Eavan Boland’s The Making of a Poem to help further my knowledge about the different verse forms. It’s quite intimidating to actually sit down and write according to the traditions, so I’m still a work in progress. ๐
Looking forward to learning with you this year!
