You Bet Lori Marie:
Actually, the heroine in my books is called Lorelei-named after a siren/mermaid located on a rock in the Rhine. It will be hard to come up with the time to interact broadly, but we have a real opportunity here. I love the profiles of our participants. Lets inexact!

Susan, my mother used to call me “Little Miss Lorelei”. I would be quite interested to see how the history of “Lorelei” meshes with your char, if it does at all. Indeed! I was real lucky to be able to move my laptop to the kitchen table tonight and grab a few minutes here and there to read introductions all evening. I think I read every single one. This group is varied and interesting, everyone has something to offer. <3

Hi LoriMarie,
So nice to meet you! I like the phrase “whip-smart”! Congrats on working at Metroland by following your heart to and with writing and photography.
If you want any insider info on singing in bands and getting gigs in local dives and clubs, I may be able to add some anecdotes. I’ve done it (singing), and my husband (guitar player) still does! Just quit a rock/funk band to make more time for writing.
I, too, love the sharing and support we can build in here and am so looking forward to being a part of it with you.

Welcome, Lori-Marie! So wonderful to have you in the course.
I’ve played in a few bands (flute and keyboard), but only as an older adult, so that teen scene is a little unfamiliar. I would imagine it can get pretty wild.

That’s pretty cool, Ann! I’m guessing with the flute you were folk influenced? I don’t play or sing but I dated a couple guitar players, married one, and I’ve been attending concerts on a regular basis since I was 12. It can definitely get wild but oh my gosh, it was fun. It’s a different scene now that I’m older but still great.

Hi LoriMarie!
Well it’s always nice to be called whip-smart! It’s so great to have you here.
I like your story premise. Have you seen Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist? Sort of a new adult romp through NYC’s music scene. You might enjoy it.
Looking forward to getting to know you. ๐

Lori-Marie, I am looking forward to hearing more from you. I am relatively new at writing although it seems like I have been doing it all my life. I also am an illustrator. Lots of times my heart is torn in two between writing and the art side. It is amazing to me that I have written five children’s books in the last year and half. Please keep in touch.

I love that you do both. Have you illustrated any of your own books?

Hi LoriMarie! I thought I’d popped in her already, but I was wrong!
I added you on Facebook (Jen Henderson), if you’d like to connect that way. If not, that’s okay, too.
Your book sounds fun. If you need a beta reader, you know where to find me… ๐

The drama in bands is more than any on stage. My brother was lead signer in a great band, fiance had his own and I was his roadie. But no teanage bands to help. I’m there in band spirit cheering you on.
Speaking of further support, thank you for offering and I would love that. What I’m finding is that the smart new thing is pulling together as authors on a multi-author blog to give each time to write. I am just sending that out there as I don’t know the backends of it but think Writer Unboxed. Otherwise, a non-formal agreement among word lovers fits what is needed and I’d be grateful.Just in case you missed it, I’m leaving this for you below in response to your message on my topic.
LoriMarie,
Your message meant more than I can tell you, truly. I cannot thank you enough for the gift of your words. I think we can agree there is no greater gift than words and yours were tied with heartstrings. Thank you.

Lee, thank you very much for sending such a sweet message. I was pretty sure what you were writing about and I wanted to be there for you but I was uneasy maybe I had said the wrong things so your message comes through like a bird-song. xoxo
The idea of a writers unboxed blog is a great one. I would be pleased to be a part of something like that. Would there be a theme? Do you have people in mind?
Yes! The drama in bands would be a fun way to keep a story moving forward, I thought anyway. you’re such a darling.
