Mirel, it’s very nice to make your acquaintance.
I see you and I like similar things. My last short story was a historical fiction story. It was based an a local Kansan who built and sailed a windwagon (a covered wagon with sails instead of the cover) west down the Oregon trail. I am editing and reworking it with the hopes of self publishing.
I too was brought here by Joe’s book “Let’s Write a Short Story,” and by working on the exercise at “The Write Practice” so I guess I am a Joe Bunting groupie as well. Perhaps we should have some T-Shirts made.
Anyway it is very nice to meet you and I look forward to sharing stories with you.

Mirel, I love what you said, “Help us get to know the whole you, not just the good parts.” I agree!
Also, I feel very honored to have you as an amazing connection I’VE made through The Write Practice and this course. You’re the best, Mirel.

@JLS
Wow, sounds like an interesting story. I remember reading about wind wagons, though not much. More covered wagon sagas.
Did you post the windwagon
story here?And Btw, I think joe would get a kick out of groupie shirts ๐

Oops, I think the part you loved is actually what you wrote. I did copy paste to make sure I covered all the details you wanted us to cover and that was your last line, which somehow didn’t get deleted.
What can I tell you Joe, you just come up with brilliant lines, even if you don’t recognize it at the time ๐

I’m thankful to have found you, in a twisty-turny way, through the Skywriters group (but ultimately through the vast and many influences of Joe Bunting. Haha!)

Mirel,
Pleased to meet you. Although I’m just starting out, I guess I write for the same reasons you do. It keeps me happy.
I’d love to read some of your work.

@judith
I have some stories posted here under Mirelba or my name, or you can find more on my site, storiesworthsharing.net I have instalments of my novel posted for the facebook critique group I belong to, skywriters. There we post stories and critique them at skype meetings every two weeks.What kind of stories do you write?
As for skype, I don’t skype regularly, but if you’d like to interview me (and I’m flattered) then we can set up a time for me to be on skype. Where are you located, so I can figure time differences…

Mirel,
I am so glad to make a connection to you. You reflect back to m the reasons for writing and sharing: “Because it makes me happy and I believe” that’s what I was born to do. I love how one sentence you open up to us and another you reflect your reader. It’s like a mirror you turn on yourself and then flip over to show your reader something about them. That’s what stories are for and you have it down!
So great to meet you and I look forward to further talks as well as connecting on Skywriters!
Lee
P.S. I’m a Joe Bunting groupie, too!

Hi Lee! I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had a chance to drop in here for a while. I had a short trip to Slovakia after which my dh abducted me to a spa retreat for my (Hebrew) birthday, and then home to prepare for 24 weekend guests… I’m still trying to catch my breath. Spice that with the local events… and I’ve had little time for the course. I’m feeling so bad.
Hope to start catching up, before my daughter gives birth and I get bogged down again. Good to meet you, and if you’re on skywriters now, I’m sure we’ll talk some more.
