Chasing giants? Love it, James! Welcome, Chase!

Hi Stef! A fellow freelancer and nonfiction writer here. Like you, I’m befuddled by the idea of creating whole stories/worlds in fiction, but enjoy reading it. Poetry happens to me occasionally, and when it does, it’s either sad (and cathartic) or whimsical (and fun!) I’m glad you’re around!

Welcome, Judith! I appreciate your bravery!

Hi there, Chelsea! How fun to have someone else around who knows New Hampshire.

YES, I think you’ve got the right idea with the “honest audience” that makes you stronger. My architect friend says it worked the same way for her in grad school, and my counselor friend in his training, and I know it certainly does for me in my writing.

I’m really glad you’re back, Kate! And wow, you’ve been busy. In a happy and inspiring way, it sounds like.
I love the idea of a good book being like a good walk — always wondering what’s around the next corner.

Sounds like you’ll have a lot of wisdom to share, Margie!
And isn’t it mind-blowing, how often “heart-breaking” and “beauty” belong in the same sentence?

Welcome, Susan, and congratulations on the book!

Flouncing: now that’s a fun word! Welcome back, Katie!

Lee, it’s delightful to have you around!

Glad to have you here again, James! You add a lot to the community.

Way to go, Sunny! So pleased for you!

Hey there, Jody! Fellow Institute of Children’s Lit alum here…from way back in the day, when my work arrived in the mailbox with blue pen marks on it. Not something I brag about to my young adult audience, but ICL gave me a good shove in the (very basic) right direction, at least! 😉
