This bio is from my latest book (June 2014), "The Beader's Guide to Jewelry Design": Margie Deeb is passionate about creativity and beauty. Her personal mission is to keep opening portals to beauty for others and herself. As a teacher she is dedicated to fostering artistic self-confidence grounded in knowledge and unrestrained permission to play. As an artist and writer, she devotes her creativity to self-discovery, healing, growth, and fun. She loves inspiring and being inspired. She is the first author to publish books on color specifically addressing the challenges presented by working with beads. Her books include the popular The Beader’s Guide to Color and The Beader’s Color Palette, which Library Journal voted the Best Craft How-To book of 2009. She has published countless print and digital articles on design and color. Margie discussed her approach to color in jewelry on a 2008 episode of the PBS TV show Beads, Baubles and Jewels. Margie is a professional art director, graphic designer, illustrator, and color expert. In addition to her visual arts in pen and ink, oils, watercolor, and charcoal, she is also a musican. She works with all kinds of beading methods, including on- and off-loom weaving and stringing. She is well known for her fantastically colorful loom-woven pieces. Margie conducts design, color, and writing workshops for artists in all mediums online and throughout the U.S. and Canada.
