I wrote my first children’s story, not sure what age group but probably second, third or fourth graders, Samson’s New Family, to express that we are all family in the eyes of God and that they can have many different families in their lives and how if we just trust OURSELVES we can accomplish or learn how to take care of ourselves. My second story is about our little dog and how much enjoyment she brings to our lives. Over the Mountains was just a travelogue of a once-in-a-lifetimes experience I enjoyed with my sister. We are the only ones left of a family of six. The Orphan and the Sea was a rewrite of a story I wrote about Anna’s New Home. I am fascinated with lighthouses and so I guess this story was written for me. I can only imagine what life must have been like and it opens up my imagination to write that book.
I am preparing to write my life story — the story of my step-father, who portrayed life of the traveling preacher who went from church to church on horseback — I also would like to do something totally out of character for me but don’t know if it will ever evolve.
I guess like almost everyone else, I write for myself, but I want the world to read it. -
My objective is to provide the people I will be working with the ability to get their message out into the world. I also want to sell more of my books and to write more. I have two stories I am kicking around. One is the story of my step-father who a very unique preacher who was born in a sod house in Western Kansas and my own story of God’s love for me and what He has done for me.

Lori-Marie, I am on Twitter @jrbird423.

The descriptions were good. There were at least two typographical errors that I found. Was this fiction or non-fiction? I have never traveled in those areas but your description seem so real.

Although this is not my preference for reading material, you did a good job describing all of the details. I, like Michael, am wondering where you are going. Maybe this is too brief of a word count to reach that conclusion.

Ebony, what a wonderful story. It is so easy to get trapped into repetitiveness of certain statements. I have a lot of trouble with I, She, He said, says, or other substitutions that one always thinks belong at the end of a quote.
If you can continue to put your passion into your writing as you have done here, I am sure you will create many wonderful stories for us to enjoy. -
Lori-Marie, I am looking forward to hearing more from you. I am relatively new at writing although it seems like I have been doing it all my life. I also am an illustrator. Lots of times my heart is torn in two between writing and the art side. It is amazing to me that I have written five children’s books in the last year and half. Please keep in touch.

Thank you for stepping out. I, too, was raped at age 7. My description of my incident will be in my novel I am working on now. For our friendship I feel a deep bond and wish you the very best in your career and life.

Hi all! My name is Nita Couch. I am a self-published author of five children’s books. Two of the five are for older children, youth. I am taking this course because I believe in what Joe Bunting stands for and that I can learn a lot from all of you. I took a class with Long Ridge Writing Group and completed it with three credits to add to my resume.
As part of my writing experience I am setting up classes that can teach children, or any age person how to write a book, illustrate, and have their own published work to let the world know their ideas. This has worked me into a proposition that has the potential to reach the world.
I am looking forward to meeting a lot of new friends and Cartelistas. God be with us all. Nita Couch -
