Quick answer: If you want to build your speaking business, traditionally publish. You’ll improve your authority more with that seal of approval than you would if you self-published. If you’re goal is to make money, then my best advice is to do both. Hybrid authors or authors who had once been traditionally published and are now self-publishing tend to do the best, I’ve found.
Very excited to have you in the course, Sarah. This is going to be an awesome class.

Hi, Sarah,
Nice to meet you. That is very cool that it’s your year. It’s very cool WHY it’s your year, and I’m blown away by that. I can’t wait to see what gifts your birth number and the size of your family bring to you. -

Hi Sarah! Looking forward to interacting with you during this course. Such an interesting introduction! I have lots of thoughts about routes of publishing, but there’s time to get into that…
Nice to meet you!

Hi Sarah! It’s great to have you as a classmate. ๐
2014 is also “my year” in that it’s the year of the Horse according to the Chinese zodiac, which is when I was born. More importantly, it’s the year I aim to be prolific in terms of my work and accomplishments. In fact, being a part of the Story Cartel is one of my biggest wins this year!
Looking forward to working with you and the rest of the writing community here!

Hi Sarah, Your book is important. So often I feel helpless when others experience hardship. I tend to bring a meal and offer to take over a chore and do my best to be authentic and loving. But it can be awkward and I wonder if there is something more I could offer and indeed am I doing the right thing.
It is great to meet you. I’m kinda hoping for a few pieces bout what it was like growing up in such a large family and maybe a piece or two on how you all relate now that you’re adults.
