I was an Air Force brat, which matters. I was raised by a single mom, though my dad was very much in the picture. I was in the Major of the Month Club in college, because my dad said I couldn't study art. After 3 years, he suggested tech school, so I got a dental hygiene degree. I practiced for 5 months. I got pregnant, then, and it never occurred to me to work after our son was born. I was a stay at home mom. Had a second child, this one a girl. Raised kids. Now kids are raised, and one has started raising his own! It's time for me to return to my life now. I am an artist, working in pencil, colored pencil, watercolor, and doing stained glass, chain mail jewelry, quilling, and sculpture. I'm sure to add more to this list. We have 3 acres, which I am permascaping, now that I have let go of my buttmunch horse. We still have his elderly mom, but she is not a doodiehead, as he was. The garden took years to get prepared, but it is going now. I will use the Square Foot Gardening technique. Horse poo is green gold. It's sad to be letting go of the sources. We also have almost a dozen chickens. We had a dozen about two weeks ago, till Fox came and grabbed one. I managed to let the dogs out into the pasture in time to save her from being dinner, but she didn't last the night. The dogs are a story too. They are Maremmas, a breed of Livestock Guard Dog, and they are a whole new ball of wax!! They are very different from any dog I've ever known! We got them to protect the chickens. Well, we got Zeus to protect the chickens. Then we got a Freya (more story), because he needed someone to share duties with. Freya had puppies, and LGDs have large litters!! She had 9 puppies in her very first (and last!!) litter!! I found homes for 5 of the 7 who survived, and we still have two pups, a year and a half old. And a husky mix dog. So we have 5 dogs to guard 12 chickens! Then the fox got a chicken because we kept the dogs in the yard because the doodiehead horse used to run and buck past them, and they would all join in, and I never knew if they were playing or preying. It would only take an instant for things to go bad, so I just kept them separate. Hence the fox. I am a brown stripe in karate, a gold belt in ju jitsu, and a gold belt in iaijitsu, or Japanese sword. I started about a year and a half ago. One of the most wonderful things I have ever done with my life!! I am a drummer. Not a kit drum, but African drums, which are also like Scandinavian drums. I haven't played in a while, but now I can start that up again. A drumcircle is an amazing thing. If you have never listened to a live one, try it sometime. You will vibrate. It's magic. I went to culinary school. It was a blast!! Oldest in my class, again... But in the first half of the first semester, I learned the right ways to do all the cooking I had done all my life, and after that, everything for the next 2 years was new! What an adventure!! I was going to be a personal chef. As I finished up, the bottom fell out of the economy. Oh!! And I finally wrote the first draft of a book that has been percolating in me for 20 plus years! It is the historical fiction story of Adam and Eve and Lilith. It is time to get that rewritten and readable!! I'm not experienced with writing bios, so I think I probably give too much information. I'll improve.
