Elise,
It sounds like you are well on your way. I’d love to hear about your publishing experience, both traditional and self. I’ve just started with the social media side (after resisting Facebook forever), so I’m interested in your blog/twitter history as well.
Glad you’re in the course.

Hi, Ebony.
I mostly teach programming, but next year I’m scheduled to to teach an application course. I used to be head of the computer studies department and teach exclusively computers, but due to changes by the ministry, computers has been absorbed by business and when that happened, I went back to teaching English which I dearly missed. These days I teach mostly English with one or two computers a year.
What do you teach?

Happy Saturday!
That sounds like a nice schedule. I teach ninth grade and eleventh grade English. Last year I taught six sections of ninth grade, which drove me crazy. This year I’m teaching three sections of ninth and two sections of eleventh. I really enjoy eleventh grade English because it’s American Literature. It’s a great relief from teaching Romeo and Juliet all day. (No disrespect to my friend, Shakespeare. But when you wake up in the morning quoting the prologue, you need a break. Just sayin.)

Hi Elise! It’s great to “meet” an author who already has experience with self-publishing and working with an independent publishing house. I’m sure you’ll have plenty to share for the rest of us. ๐
Looking forward to learning from you and with the rest of the community.

Hi Elise! I’m looking forward to hearing about your self-publishing experiences, and to reading your work. Btw, I think your “standing in a room talking to myself” phrase is just so apt – just being on social media doesn’t guarantee an audience. I was once (and only once) the communications director for a political campaign, and ran into a similar feeling (on behalf of my candidate).
